Danone in Ireland

Danone Ireland is a relative youngster in Groupe Danone terms. The launch of Actimel in 1997 proved to be the kick-start the company needed and went on to become a huge favourite of Irish consumers.

It tapped in to an exploding consumer trend for functional foods and is now Ireland’s best-selling fresh dairy product. Other launches such as Danone Activia, Danone Danacol, Danone Vitalinea and Danone Danonino followed offering Irish consumers a broad range of healthy products to meet all needs.

Today, Danone Actimel is Irelands No.1 selling fresh dairy product and Danone Activia is a close number 2.
‘We have grown turnover, market share and increased penetration substantially. I am confident that our model for growth will enable us to continue sustained growth in the future’, says Managing Director, Donal Courtney.

Danone Waters UK & Ireland (Danone Waters)

Over the past 25 years, since Evian was first sold, bottled water has really established itself in the habits of the Irish population.

Evian and Volvic, our trademark natural mineral waters and their flavoured variants, have been at the forefront of this consumption growth and are the top selling bottled water brands in the country.
