Bringing health through food to as many people as possible

Danone’s commitment to bringing health through food is as old as the company itself. For over a century, we’ve been faithful to its original purpose, selling healthy, delicious products tailored to the nutritional needs and eating habits of our consumers.

In the 1970s, Danone began to consider the environmental and social impact of our business on the planet. Danone’s pioneering approach led the way to our current mission to Bring Health Through Food to as Many as Possible and to incorporate the principles of co-creation, locally relevant offerings and continuous improvement.

One Planet. One Health

Today, 'One Planet. One Health' reflects our belief that the health of people and the health of the planet are interconnected.

 

It is a call to action for all consumers and everyone who has a stake in food to join the food revolution: a movement aimed at nurturing the adoption of healthier, more sustainable eating and drinking habits.

OUR global 2030 goals

Our Danone 2030 Goals set out how we will deliver our ‘One Planet. One Health’ vision through our brand, business and trust models.

Our social and environmental objectives are aligned with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, and focus on four areas:

  1. Improving health through a healthier portfolio of products and brands that encourage better habits
  2. Preserving the planet and renewing its resources to help fight climate change
  3. Creating new futures with our teams by enabling each employee to have an impact on the company's decisions
  4. Promoting inclusive growth, by ensuring equal opportunities within the company and by supporting fragile players in our ecosystem

Entreprise à Mission

Danone became the first listed company to adopt the “Entreprise à Mission” model created by French law in 2019. An “Entreprise à Mission” is defined as a company whose social and environmental objectives are aligned with its purpose and set out in its Articles of Association. Find out more
